Deborah Cole

Deborah Cole is a  French horn player, conductor and educator.   She is a former teacher at Worcester’s Burncoat High School Music Magnet program where she conducted the orchestra, band and Jazz Ensemble and taught Music Theory, Musicianship and Music History.  Deborah has taught grades K-12 for over 30 years in the Worcester Public Schools where she also wrote  curricula and music directed many programs and productions.  She was one of the founding members of the nonprofit group Support Our Fine Arts and served as president of the SOFA board of directors for 3 years. 

Deborah currently serves as sectional coach for the Worcester Youth Orchestra and the Worcester Youth Philharmonic working with their woodwind and brass sections on various orchestral repertoire.  She is on the faculty of Pakachoag Music School and Clark University.

Ms. Cole has studied horn with Carolyn Panesevich, Keith Polk,  Jeanne Paella, Thomas Newell and Richard Sebring.  She has performed with various orchestras, bands and chamber ensembles including the New England Conservatory Graduate Woodwind Octet. 

Her education includes a Masters Degree in Musical Performance on horn from the New England Conservatory of Music and a Bachelors Degree in Music  from the University of Massachusetts at Lowell. 

She is presently a performing member of the Worcester Winds, the Clark University Orchestra and the Ashby Band.
